October 25 2009, 4:11 pm Playing their seventh and eighth matches of the season, the Lions are now starting to play together as a team and for the first time this season had a full team with substitutes. With one girl on debut and others still only having played a handful of games, some of the finer points of positioning are still missing. However, a battling performance in their first match vs Lymm ended up with a narrow loss to a scrappy goal in the last minute. The girls know they should have cleared the ball. However, they clearly learned from that first game with an excellent performance (particularly in the first half) against Bradwell Belles. The 2-1 victory could easily have been much better and the opening goal was one of the best you'll see at this level.
The girls are now looking forward to developing their game and skills with a full squad and more experience.
Next up, unbeaten Macclesfield Town....
